The Research Institute for Innovation and Development (IID) provides specialized incubation programs designed to transform innovative ideas into sustainable and scalable business models. With an impact-centric approach, IID Incubation accompanies founders in standardizing management capacity, optimizing operational models, and connecting ecosystem resources. Our programs focus on three strategic target groups: Social Impact Businesses (SIBs), Women-Owned Businesses (WOBs), and Youth & Students.

FOREST ECOPRENEUR

Forest Ecopreneur 2025 builds upon the success of its 2024 predecessor, continuing its mission to incubate and accelerate enterprises dedicated to forest restoration. As a vital component of the SAFE Initiative (Sustainable Actions for Forest and Ecosystems), the program is implemented by the Korea Forest Service (KFS) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The program’s core objectives are to conserve forest ecosystems, support forest-dependent communities, and promote sustainable development goals. In 2025, the program is expanding its scale, enhancing innovation, and fostering expert connections to deliver impactful and efficient forest restoration solutions.

SOCIAL ENTERPRISE INNOVATION SUPPORT PROGRAM (SEIP)

The Social Enterprise Innovation Support Program (SEIP) is designed to cultivate a comprehensive ecosystem that supports Vietnamese social impact businesses (SIBs) in fostering innovation amidst the digital transformation. By providing specialized training and capacity-building activities, SEIP drives the sustainable development of the impact startup ecosystem. Building on the remarkable success of 2024, SEIP 2025 is co-organized by the Vietnam – Singapore Friendship Association (VSFA) and the Research Institute for Innovation and Development (IID), reaffirming a steadfast commitment to empowering purpose-driven business models to scale.

SIB SIGNATURE – THE ESSENCE OF VIETNAMESE SIBs

SIB SIGNATURE – THE ESSENCE OF VIETNAMESE SIBs is a flagship initiative under the ISEE-COVID Project, funded by the Government of Canada (GAC) and jointly implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Agency for Enterprise Development (AED). The program is dedicated to honoring outstanding Social Impact Businesses (SIBs) that have successfully balanced economic profitability with positive social outcomes. SIB Signature is more than just an award; it serves as a catalyst for fostering a sustainable business environment, addressing climate change, promoting gender equality, and ensuring social welfare in Vietnam.

JAPAN CONNECT INITIATIVE 2024 (JCI)

The Japan Connect Initiative (JCI) is honored to be the first and only startup acceleration program in Vietnam dedicated to fostering connections between Vietnamese and Japanese startups. Organized by Technology Seed Incubation (TSI) and Tsucrea, under the strategic patronage of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG), the program is implemented in Vietnam by the Institute for Innovation and Development (IID) from January 2024 to February 2025. JCI not only opens doors for Vietnamese startups to enter the Japanese market but also facilitates technology exchange and sustainable economic cooperation between the two nations.

WOMEN ENTREPRENEUR AWARD 2025 (WEA)

The Women Entrepreneur Award 2025 (WEA) is a prestigious global initiative funded by the Bayer Foundation and implemented by the Institute for Innovation and Development (IID) in collaboration with the Impact Hub network. The award aims to recognize and honor visionary female entrepreneurs who are pioneering solutions to urgent challenges in Health and Food Security. Beyond the formal recognition, winners receive a comprehensive support package, including a 25,000 EUR cash prize, an invitation to the award ceremony in Europe, and exclusive participation in a 6-month acceleration program with direct access to Impact Hub’s global network of experts.

WOMEN INNOVATIVE STARTUP SUPPORT PROGRAM (SHE TECHFEST 2024)

SHE TECHFEST is a dedicated program supporting innovative women-led businesses, organized within the framework of the National Innovative Startup Talent Search Contest. 2024 marks a significant milestone as TECHFEST Vietnam, for the first time, formally recognized and honored female entrepreneurs for their outstanding efforts in applying science, technology, and innovation to solve business and social challenges. The program does not only celebrate talent but also fosters an equitable startup ecosystem where women confidently master technology and drive transformative change.

UNESCO WATER CHALLENGE FOR YOUNG INNOVATORS 2025

The Water Challenge for Young Innovators 2025 is a strategic initiative designed to identify and incubate groundbreaking ideas from students, researchers, and young innovators under the age of 30. The program focuses on addressing Vietnam’s most pressing water challenges, including scarcity, environmental pollution, and inequality in water access.

Co-organized by UNESCO Vietnam and the Institute for Innovation and Development (IID), the challenge aims to foster innovative, practical, and sustainable solutions at the intersection of science, technology, and social impact. The Top 3 outstanding ideas will receive a seed funding package of 25 million VND for pilot implementation (PoC) and gain the exclusive opportunity to showcase their solutions at the Asia-Pacific Science and Citizen Science Forum 2025.

VIETNAM SUNNY IMPACT STARTUP (VSIS 2024)

Vietnam Sunny Impact Startup (VSIS) is a large-scale acceleration program for social impact entrepreneurship, dedicated to students at universities and colleges across Vietnam. The program is co-organized by The Happiness Foundation (SK Group, South Korea) and the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) of Vietnam, with the Institute for Innovation and Development (IID) serving as the implementation partner.

2024 marks the second year of a strategic three-year collaboration between The Happiness Foundation and MOET. VSIS not only equips young talents with fundamental startup knowledge but also inspires them to create positive social values through innovative and purpose-driven business models.
