SOCIAL ENTERPRISE INNOVATION SUPPORT PROGRAM (SEIP)

SEIP (Social Enterprise Innovation Support Program) is a strategic initiative launched by the Vietnam – Singapore Friendship Association (VSFA) in 2024, operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). The program is a collaborative effort between the Institute for Innovation and Development (IID) and various local and international partners.

In 2025, SEIP focuses its resources on supporting eco-enterprises and small-scale social enterprises across provinces. Through a comprehensive support framework including Intensive Training – 1:1 Mentoring – Professional Certification – Market Connectivity, SEIP is committed to accompanying social entrepreneurs in standardizing their operational models and enhancing their sustainable competitive advantages.

Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST)

The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) is the governmental body responsible for the state management of scientific research, technology development, and the Innovation ecosystem. The Ministry plays a strategic role in advancing national science and technology potential, protecting intellectual property, and fostering high-tech and strategic technology initiatives. The patronage and support of MOST in programs like SEIP serve as a vital validation of the program’s alignment with national policies, ensuring robust institutional support for social enterprises and innovative startups across Vietnam.

Vietnam – Singapore Friendship Association

The Vietnam – Singapore Friendship Association (VSFA) is a prominent social organization that brings together Vietnamese individuals and entities dedicated to people-to-people diplomacy with Singapore. With a mission to unite members and facilitate impactful cooperative activities, VSFA plays a pivotal role in strengthening the friendship and fostering socio-economic exchanges between the two nations. The collaboration between VSFA and IID in initiatives such as the SEIP program transcends diplomatic significance, creating tangible opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to access innovative models and advanced management standards from Singapore.

Research Institute for Innovation and Development

The Research Institute for Innovation and Development (IID) is a leading organization dedicated to building and nurturing the social innovation ecosystem for sustainable development in Vietnam. Serving as a strategic “bridge,” IID specializes in mobilizing and optimizing multi-stakeholder resources. International & Domestic Connectivity: Mobilizing knowledge and financial resources from global organizations and local networks. Public-Private Partnership: Fostering synergy between the public and private sectors to create powerful collective impact. We are committed to fostering breakthrough innovative solutions that address urgent challenges, creating lasting value for both society and the economy.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

INTENSIVE ONLINE TRAINING SESSIONS

Through interactive online training sessions, leading instructors and experts provide direct guidance to help enterprises master core skills for professionalizing their brand image and competitive edge.

COLLABORATION BETWEEN ENTERPRISES & INNOVATION FELLOWS

A unique highlight of the program is the participation of the Innovation Fellows – elite students majoring in Communications and Marketing. Each Innovation Fellow is directly paired with an enterprise to provide dedicated support throughout the journey

INTENSIVE 1-1 COACHING PROGRAM

Exclusively designed for the Top 6 outstanding enterprises, IID implements a weekly Intensive 1-1 Coaching roadmap. This serves as a critical acceleration phase where each enterprise works directly with professional coaches to build and standardize a comprehensive Brand Guidelines, from core philosophy to professional visual assets.

OPENING CEREMONY & DEMO DAY

Every year, the incubation journey at IID is defined by two major milestones where the spirit of innovation and the dedication of enterprises are celebrated. The showcase event marking the completion of the incubation process. This serves as a “golden opportunity” for active participants to pitch their refined business models directly to potential investors, buyers, and sponsors to secure resources for sustainable growth.

LISTING ENTERPRISES ON THE RAO THUONG PLATFORM

The initiative to list products on the Rao Thuong platform (implemented from October to December 2025) serves as a strategic link in SEIP’s overall objective of enhancing the competitiveness of social impact businesses. The program focuses on supporting 20 core enterprises to transit from traditional sales models to online platforms (O2O). Through this activity, businesses not only expand their distribution channels but also optimize their digital customer engagement, creating momentum for professional and sustainable growth in the digital age.

IID IMPACTONOMY MARK CERTIFICATION

The IID Impactonomy Mark is a standardized evaluation system designed to recognize and honor the genuine impact-driven efforts of enterprises. The assessment process is conducted through close collaboration between IID’s expert team and the enterprises themselves, ensuring objectivity and depth in every metric.

In 2025, the SEIP program prioritizes empowering eco-enterprises and small-scale social businesses across local provinces. We believe that by standardizing their internal capacities, these enterprises will become catalysts for sustainable economic growth in their respective regions.

Overall Objective: To strengthen innovation capacity, brand identity, and market access for Vietnam’s impact-driven business community. IID realizes this goal through a comprehensive and integrated support model: “Training – Coaching – Certification – Networking – Showcase”.

SEIP 2024

The SEIP program is a strategic collaboration between prestigious organizations: the Vietnam – Singapore Friendship Association (VSFA), Vietnam Industry Research and Consultancy (VIRAC), BK Fund (Hanoi University of Science and Technology), and the Research Institute for Innovation and Development (IID).

Following a rigorous selection process, 17 outstanding enterprises were chosen to participate in an intensive training roadmap in October 2024. The curriculum was meticulously designed to standardize management capacity and foster innovation through:

- Flexible Training Model: A hybrid approach featuring 03 on-site sessions in Hanoi and 03 interactive online sessions, optimizing both learning and engagement.
- Community Connectivity: Beyond knowledge sharing, the program established an open space for founders to meet, exchange insights, and learn from one another through face-to-face gatherings and a dynamic online community network.
